A half an hour drive north-east of the NorthCoast Knittery is Fieldbrook, which is home of the Brunner Family Farm. In addition to supplying our local farmers markets with organic pasture-raised chicken eggs and fresh dahlias, they also raise Angora Mohair on their heavenly Humboldt County property. The silky and lustrous mohair was blended and spun with alpaca fiber, meaning this chunky weight yarn is squishy and full of drape. Knit, crochet, or weave with this yarn for full-bodied lofty fabrics with a fuzzy mohair halo.

Because this yarn is from a small-batch production, the amount we have in stock is limited and will not be re-stocked until after the next shearing season. While the mohair was raised here in Humboldt County, the fiber was sent to a non-profit educational mill in New Mexico where it was blended with alpaca, spun, and dyed. Please note that this yarn does contain some plant matter which is easily removed while you work with it.
