Visit Humboldt County
Located 2 hours south of the Oregon border and 5 hours north of San Francisco, we are in the rural metropolitan hub of one of the most beautiful places on earth. Here in Eureka, we are sandwiched between mountains covered by ancient forests and the rocky coast of the Pacific ocean. We absolutely love where we live, and we want to share it with you!
Our incredible County is known for having over 1,000,000 acres of forested land, and over 680,000 of those acres are local, state, and national parks. We are the home of the world's tallest trees, as well as California's second largest natural bay. We're an outdoor lover's paradise with plenty of hiking, biking, camping, kayaking, fishing, hunting, rafting, rock climbing, surfing, and more. There are plenty of easy-access spots for those who just want a leisurely day outside, as well as miles and miles of mountainous, coastal, or valley trails and areas to explore.
When you explore the local towns you'll find some of the most outstanding Victorian architecture, several local breweries, thriving agriculture, successful independant businesses, theaters, musical venues, restaurants featuring locally grown ingredients, more artists per capita than anywhere else in the state, and a California State University that has been educating students for over 100 years.
See you soon!
