The Knittery is a place to buy luxurious yarns imported from all over the world as well as books, buttons, notions, and a huge assortment of other tools and accessories for knitting, crochet, spinning, weaving, and felting. We are a proud supplier for Ashford spinning and weaving supplies, Ashland Bay Company fiber for spinning and felting, and Wool Tree Mill knitting and spinning tools.
NorthCoast Knittery first opened its doors in 2008 to provide “a unique gathering place” for fiber artists. Over the years we have become the thriving shop we are today, and we have grown hand in hand with our always-expanding community of fiber and textile artists. Our brick & mortar shop location is in the heart of Old Town Eureka- our lovely home on the Humboldt County coastline.
As a ‘unique gathering place’, we encourage you to join us in our comfortable chairs for a cup of tea or coffee. NorthCoast Knittery is a social shop for you to meet friends, work on your projects, and to revel in an inspirational environment. Our experienced staff is always available to help you, whether it’s undoing a mistake, learning a new technique, or selecting the perfect yarn. Even customers shopping with us online should feel free to contact us with any questions at all- no matter how big or small the question may be.
We offer a wide variety of classes, including workshops with celebrity knitters, designers, and technique gurus. We take pride in offering classes that cater to all skill levels, including Beginning Knitting for people who have not yet been introduced to the fine craft. Our class schedule changes from year to year, however, popular classes such as Handspinning On The Wheel recur twice a year. Seats in all of our workshops can be purchased in our online store.
Each and every Thursday night we host what we like to think is Eureka's best weekly event. Starting at 6:00pm, Sip & Knit is a social evening to meet, mingle, chat, and snack on potluck foods and drinks. All ages, skill levels, and crafts are invited. Feel free to bring something to share, but do make sure to bring a project to work on.
