Wrapped Up In Mohair

Posted on

This wrap a perpetual shop favorite. Regardless of the season, it's always our most popular project! The sheer fabric with a touchable halo draws knitters in like a siren song, and once they find out how simple it is to make- it's practically irresistible.

The Everyday Wrap is a free pattern requiring 2 skeins of Mohair Luxe or 2 skeins of the sparkly Mohair Luxe Lamé, which are only $15 or $16 each.

We're doing a Valentine's Day Giveaway! For the chance to win the 2 skeins of Mohair Luxe in the photo below, write us a comment about something you love!

**CONTEST IS CLOSED, CONGRATULATIONS LAURALEE**

The Everyday Wrap designed by the talented Julie Weisenberger for Coco Knits. The pattern is aptly named, too. It's such a simple design- but that doesn't take away from the sophistication. Sometimes less is more, and I think that is one of the keys to creating an accessory that can be worn often. We've found that this wrap looks good on everyone that tries it on. It's flattering for all body types, and it can be worn a number of different ways.

Did I mention that this wrap is outrageously easy to make? It is. It's a large stockinette rectangle with a strategically placed seam to make that triangular poncho shape. All you need to know to make this wrap is how to cast on, knit, purl, and bind off. If you want to add a bit of frill to the seam, you can pick up stitches and knit another few inches of stockinette. However, that is completely optional and you would need a third skein of Mohair Luxe or Mohair Luxe Lamé to finish.

Only 2 skeins of the soft 'n fluffy Mohair Luxe or Mohair Luxe Lamé is needed to finish one of these lofty wraps. There are a whole bunch of solid colors to choose from- some bright, some neutral, but all have that irresistible silky shine and mohair halo.

I love being mid project and having a sudden idea for the next or something I could do differently in the future. It’s all one big puzzle and keeps me exited to create new things!

What do I love? My hubby/soulmate; we have been together 35 years and he still gets me/my special brand of crazy/quirks and that includes my addition to knitting.

I love sitting in thecdun, feeling a gentle breeze, and knitting. Here, its a balmy 25 degrees and I long for warmth in any way possible.
I’ve only knitted with mohair a couple times. The warmth.halo and luminescence of the fiber is spectacular. I probably spent more time just fondling and looking at the yarn than actually knitting with it. Its a fascinating fiber with so much to offer, visually and tactile. I’d love to win and have the opportunity to explore more facets of this fiber.

I love knitting with mohair! It almost like knitting with thread, but the results are exquisite! With mohair you have elegance and beautiful drape and the resulting piece is so light and airy! Hope so much to be able to win these skeins and try this new pattern! Thank you for the opportunity!
