The Rustic Lace Scarf & Cowl Kits
Over this past week we've been busy preparing kits for a really fun scarf (or cowl) using the new yarn Rustic Lace! We loved how the simple stockinette stripes looked with all of the bright colors, but purchasing a skein of each would run you $180! These kits we've assembled will have everything you need, but with a much more affordable price tag.
Each kit contains the pattern, and 18 mini skeins of Rustic Lace.
The pattern contains instructions for knitting a scarf or a cowl, but both versions are knitted flat in stockinette stitch with simple 10 row color repeats. The Scarf begins and ends with a few rows of garter stitch, which helps prevent too much rolling. The Cowl uses a provisional cast on and the kitchener stitch to complete the loop once you're finished knitting. It's really a piece of cake!
The Rustic Lace feels great to the touch, despite the "rustic" name and uneven tweedy texture. The lambswool and silk are a lovely pair, and the blend keeps the fabric feeling lightweight and breathable, while remaining very warm.
The lace weight yarn means you'll be knitting your Rustic Lace Scarf or Cowl on US size 1 needles, or whichever size you need to match gauge. It's a small needle size, but the pattern is so simple you should be able to speed right along. The frequent color changes helps keep the monotony away!
I adore the stripes. I think they're cute, playful, and really fun to wear! The multitude of colors of Rustic Lace used makes the accessory easy to pair with any of your favorite casual outfits. Toss it on, and go to town!
