The Rhombus Feather Shawl

Posted on

Ok, it's officially time to button up your holiday gift list. Regardless if you're knitting for someone else, buying a project for another knitter, or sending someone a link for what you really want- during these next few weeks I will be focusing on 1 - 2 skein projects that are ideal for this giving time of year.

The Rhombus Feather Shawl uses just 2 skeins of the touchable Tracie Too, and we are providing the pattern for free with your yarn purchase until the end of 2017!

If you order before November 30th, use the coupon code FREESHIPPING17.

With the pattern and shipping both provided for free- this project will only run you $42.

To download the pattern for free, first add the Tracie Too to your shopping cart. A popup window will ask if you would also like to add the free version of the pattern. Click 'Add' and then complete checkout!

Tracie Too is a beautiful sport weight wool yarn, and despite how squishy soft it is- it provides a lovely amount of stitch definition. That's exactly what you want when you're working on an intricate lace pattern like in the Rhombus Feather Shawl

The Rhombus Feather Shawl is a little more on the advanced side compared to the patterns I usually share, but if you're comfortable sitting down with a lace stitch chart- I'm willing to bet you'll be fine working your way through this one. The shawl's literal rhombus shape keeps it interesting with strategic increases and decreases, and even if the feather stitch pattern requires some concentration at first- once you establish the pattern you'll be able to 'read' where you are, and knitting the design will come more naturally.

The two sample Rhombus Feather Shawls in the photos were knit with Tracie Too colors that have sold out, however there are several others that would be stunning! I would personally reach for the more neutral shades Wild Rye or Pearl Grey, but Autumn Rust or Denim Dusk would also be fantastic!
