One of the current trunk shows on display in the shop is featuring garments and accessories knitted up with the 75% Superwash Merino, 25% Nylon yarn Yuri! Each skein of this sock weight yarn has that tonal semi-solid color variation everyone loves, and they have a generous amount of yardage so you can get plenty done with just one...
The Serika pattern is available to download for $6. It uses just one skein of Yuri, which are $22 each.
This project keeps your budget under $30!
Plus.... With just one skein you can make two hats!
Serika is a cute cabled hat pattern written for adult sizes small and medium: will stretch to fit heads measuring 15-17 (17-19)”. While knitting cables is not too difficult, this pattern is labeled for experienced knitters because following a stitch chart is required.
I love how Serika's wide ribbed brim transitions into the cable design that twists and turns all the way up through the crown. Typically we would suggest a solid color for cable patterns, because color shifts can often distract from intricate designs... However Yuri's patches of colors are subtle enough to still show off the cables, rather than hide them.
The colorway you see in the sample photos is Morning Glory #5057.
But I personally really like Hosta #5046, and Daffodil #5050.
