Revisiting the Everyday Wrap
For myself, the best feeling comes from finishing a project that I (or the recipient) can wear every day, any day, for any occasion. You know, those everyday accessories that don't need to be complicated or ornate- they just need to look good and be easy to wear.
The Everyday Wrap is a free pattern requiring 2 skeins of Mohair Luxe, which are $15 each
Not bad for a silk & mohair wrap, right?!
The Everyday Wrap designed by the talented Julie Weisenberger for Coco Knits. The pattern is aptly named, too. It's such a simple design- but that doesn't take away from the sophistication. Sometimes less is more, and I think that is one of the keys to creating an accessory that can be worn often. We've found that this wrap looks good on everyone that tries it on. It's flattering for all body types, and it can be worn a number of different ways.
Did I mention that this wrap is outrageously easy to make? It is. It's a large stockinette rectangle with a strategically placed seam to make that triangular poncho shape. All you need to know to make this wrap is how to cast on, knit, purl, and bind off. If you want to add a bit of frill to the seam, you can pick up stitches and knit another few inches of stockinette. However, that is completely optional and you would need a third skein of Mohair Luxe to finish.
Only 2 skeins of the soft 'n fluffy Mohair Luxe is needed to finish one of these lofty wraps. There are a whole bunch of solid colors to choose from- some bright, some neutral, but all have that irresistible silky shine and mohair halo. The 77% Super kid Mohair and 23% Silk blend is just divine, and knitting it up on US size 7 needles accentuates the drape and the sheer look. What color will you be choosing?
