Project Inspiration: Snuggle Waffle Hat
There are plenty of enjoyable patterns out there- but it's a rarity to find a design that we don't mind casting on again immediately after binding off another. Like stars in perfect alignment- the characteristics of this Waffle Hat pattern makes it an undeniably addictive project that will leave you wanting another, and another, and another.
The Snuggle Waffle Hat is a free pattern using just 1 skein of Snuggle, which is only $9.60 per solid color skein and $14.50 for the hand dyed variegated.
So what is it about the Snuggle Waffle Hat that makes it so worthy of knitting over and over? For one, it calls for a bulky weight yarn- so it doesn't require much yardage and it knits up in a jiffy. We've done this hat pattern in several different bulky weight yarns, so each one has a different look and feel. Secondly, the stitch pattern is an easy-to-do and easy-to-memorize variation of a 2x2 ribbing. If you know how to knit, purl, knit in the round- then you'll have no problem with this one.
Not only is the pattern quick and easy to knit, but it it's unisex and looks great on everyone! Who doesn't love a good textural stitch pattern? All you need to do is pick out the right Snuggle colors, and voila, everyone on your holiday gift list is taken care of. How great does that sound?! Since Snuggle is so affordable, it's a fantastic option for gift knitting.
The Snuggle Waffle Hat pattern is actually our adaptation of Aaron's Hat by UptownPurl on Ravelry. After making several of these hats, we felt it was necessary to write up this version of the pattern to help knitters replicate the same results as our own.
Over time we've knit 5 of these Waffle Hats, but Snuggle is our favorite yarn choice thus far (a close second being 1 skein of Wynter). It's a plush and snuggly-soft yarn with beautiful stitch definition despite the fluffy alpaca halo. We chose to knit the sample with the colorway Blue Bird, but there are some other colors I'm eyeballing now! I especially like Snow Berries, Seafoam, and the hand dyed colorway A Knot Of Naturals.
