Remember watching water flowing back into the ocean from the tidal changes, or low water in a creek in the midst of summer chasing its way through rocks? This hat seeks to capture that playful dynamic flow of bygone childhood afternoons spent building rock dams and watching the water dance around them.
The Rivulets Hat is Harry's latest design, and it's another beauty! It's written for 4 different sizes: 12-18 months, (Child/Teen, Adult, Adult Slouch) and the sample shown in the photos is the Adult size.
Regardless of which size you knit, you'll only need 1 skein of the Swan's Island Natural Colors Worsted Weight. This plump and warm merino wool yarn has beautiful stitch definition that accentuates the woven cables stitch pattern. Each skein of this yarn was hand dyed with all natural materials, giving it gorgeous colorways with soft tonal shifts.
The hat's ribbed brim helps the hat stay snug, and the cable pattern flawlessly transitions into neat decreases. Who doesn't love a good clean hat crown? You also have the option of adding pom-pom as a final touch, which is especially cute for the 12-18 month size!
For the sample Rivulets Hat, Harry used the colorway Fig- but there are so many others to choose from! Since it's a one skein project that is available in so many different sizes, this would be an excellent choice as a gift for someone dear to you.
