Pettigrew is a long crescent shaped wrap knitted up with our new ultra-soft merino, yak, and silk blend Escape. Combine two of the rich deeply saturated colors to create an accessory that's warm, versatile, easy to wear, and fun to knit!
Pettigrew is available to download for $6. It uses 3 skeins in each color (6 skeins total) of Escape.
The Pettigrew wrap is knitted lengthwise in 3 sections. You begin with the wide ribbing in your first color, you move into striping the two colors together for the second section, and then you finish the wrap with an eyelet garter edge that's worked sideways.
I love how the long length of the Pettigrew allows you to wear it in a few different styles. Toss it on like a scarf, or drape it and hold it closed with a shawl pin. The fiber blend in Escape makes the Pettigrew incredibly warm and lustrous, and the design could easily be dressed up or just worn casually.
This pattern is not too difficult, and there are no charts to worry about, but the basic lace stitch pattern used along the edge makes this pattern an 'Intermediate' design. Anyone familiar with working K2TOG, KFB, and YO's should have no problem knitting their own Pettigrew.
There are only a few colors of Escape. With these deep silky colors it'd be hard to go wrong with whatever you choose. Our sample in the photos combined Aero and Mink, but we also think Nickel would look great with Vermillion, and Moss would look fantastic paired with either Nickel or Mink. Even Vermillion and Moss would work well, especially for a holiday accessory!
