Lhasa: A Cashmere & Yak Romance
We haven't had Lhasa in our shop for very long... As you probably remember, we recently released a few free-with-yarn-purchase patterns using just 1 - 2 skeins of this luxurious cashmere & yak blend. Unfortunately, our love affair with this yarn cannot go on much longer. Debbie Bliss Yarns are not being distributed in the United States anymore, and we won't be able to reorder Lhasa! It's sad, but there's a silver lining... We can now offer the Lhasa we have in stock at 25% off!
When you add the Lhasa to your cart, don't miss your opportunity to also get the Snuggle Mitts or the Keep It Simple Hat patterns for free!
The Snuggle Mitts are cute, very warm, and super soft! You only need 1 skein of Lhasa to knit a pair. These fingerless mitts are knitted on US size 8 double pointed knitting needles, and the majority of the pattern is simple stockinette stitch. Purl ridges from reverse stockinette provide as an edging that's clean and easy to do. If you're a newer knitter, don't let the thumb gusset scare you away. This gusset is not too complicated, and it really gives your mitts a more professional look and fit.
The Keep It Simple Hat is actually written for two styles. A basic beanie with 1 skein of Lhasa, or a slouchy hat with 2 skeins of Lhasa! Like the Snuggle Mitts, this hat is mostly stockinette stitch, so even a beginner knitter should be able to work through this without problems. Grab your 16" size 8 circular needles and go!
Lhasa's chainette ply traps air inside the yarn, keeping it amazingly lightweight and lofty for how bulky it is. The quick-knit gauge means you can finish these 1 - 2 skein projects in a jiffy, and trust us, you'll love every minute! Lhasa is so buttery soft and luxurious. It's truly a pleasure to work with, and there are some pretty incredible colors still available...
