I Love Yarn Day Giveaway!

Posted on

Yes, yes, yes-- it's obvious. We love yarn! I Love Yarn Day is an annual 'holiday' just for us fiber folk- and this year it falls on Saturday October 17th!

I Love Yarn Day is a day meant to share and spread that soft-spot in our hearts reserved for fiber. Which, admittedly, is something we strive to do every day of the year! So we asked ourselves, "what's something extra that we can do for this special occasion?" ........it didn't take long for us to decide on a G-I-V-E-A-W-A-Y!

At 10:00am PST on Monday October 19th, I will choose a random winner to receive a skein of the new Lost Coast Aran Weight in the Pacific Blue colorway!

Here's what you do: Leave a comment on this blog post. That's it. If you want your friends and family to have a chance to get in on the action, share this post with them!

Curious about what you can do with just one skein? Each skein of the Aran Weight actually has a generous amount of length. With 215 yards, you have plenty to knit yourself a hat, mitts, slippers, or even a small cowl. One of the great things about Lost Coast Yarns is that the colorways all complement each other wonderfully, so you could always pick up a second skein to finish a bigger project. The choice is yours!

If you haven't heard of our Lost Coast Yarns yet, allow me to introduce you! This line of yarn is, as you can see on the label: all natural, hand dyed, farmstead yarn. The wool used is from a family owned ranch in southern Humboldt County, and Amanda (the talent behind Lost Coast Yarns) selectively hand picks the fleeces to be used. Once the locally sourced wool is spun, she then hand dyes it with all natural and organic materials-- several of which were also locally harvested and collected! We're so proud to be the exclusive retailer for this special yarn, and if you'd like to hear more of the story directly from Amanda herself, you can listen to her Woolful Podcast episode here.

Rebecca, our new shop assistant, is working on her first shop project- and it's the Circuitry Hat out of a skein of the Aran Weight in the colorway Six Rivers! She's mostly finished and is just winding her way up the crown now. The project has been moving along very quickly, and it sounds like she's been enjoying the pattern almost as much as she's been enjoying the yarn. You can download the Circuitry Hat for free off of Ravelry!

P.S.... I'll let you in on a lil' secret. We will also be doing an in-shop giveaway for a skein of the aran weight in the Raspberry Sorbet colorway. You, unfortunately, can't win twice- but we won't stop you from entering both! To be included in the in-shop giveaway, come by to do some shopping anytime from 10am - 6pm on Saturday the 17th!

Good luck!
