Firefly Tunic Knit Along!

Firefly is one of our favorite spring/summer yarns. Every colorway has a gorgeous luster, and the linen adds a texture that softens with time. Any fabric knitted up with this yarn, regardless of the gauge, will elegantly drape and insulate while remaining lightweight and airy. Since Firefly is only $10 a ball, it's an affordable option that will still result in a high-quality and luxurious garment.
One of the awesome things about this pattern is how size-friendly it is. For the finished chest sizes 35.25" (37", 39.5", 42", 44.5", 47", 49.5", 52.25", 54.75", 57.25", 59.75") you will need 6 (7, 8, 9, 10, 11, 12, 13, 14, 15, 16) skeins of the Firefly. Don't forget to pick a size that will give you 2" - 4" of ease.
The tunic is worked in the round from the bottom up, and switched to knitting back and forth above the underarms and for the sleeves. A 3 needle bindoff is used for joining the shoulders, and the sleeves are seamed. There is an optional matching cowl using the main color of your tunic along with 1 skein of a contrast color.
The Firefly tunic is simple, but still very sophisticated. I love the shaping on the chest, because it's a subtle detail that would be flattering on anyone. The majority of the tunic is simply stockinette, so you don't have much to worry about if you're still new to sweater knitting. In fact, this may be an excellent place to start! Laura will be running the knit along, so she will be there during each step to guide you and answer questions.
